Open Publishing Awards is an event which celebrates individuals and communities developing open creative, technological, scholarly, artistic, and civic publishing projects.
The nominations are open and everyone can propose a person, project, group or organization who they believe have given a valuable contribution to advance open in publishing.
The Open Publishing Awards provides a chance to reflect on the strategic value of openness, aiming to go beyond the thinking of ‘open’ only in terms of licenses or simply by putting it in the contrast with the proprietary business models. If you are to make a nomination, the organizers invite you to take in high consideration the question:
What role does ‘open’ play in making this project special?
You may learn more on the concept behind this event and how judging works by visiting: https://openpublishingawards.org/about.html
And of course, you can give your nomination: https://openpublishingawards.org/
This year, the categories for the awards are:
- Open Source Software
- Open Content
- Open Publishing Models
The Panel of Judges for the 2021 Open Publishing Awards is still to be announced!
